Nachimuthu Polytechnic was established in 1957 in Pollachi in fond memory of his father Sri P.Nachimuthu Gounder. This institution has the proud record of producing over 10,000 technocrafts in various disciplines such as Automobile, Computers, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Textile etc. at Diploma and Post Diploma levels. N.G.M. College established in Pollachi in 1957 with the co-operation of Sri Nallamuthu Gounder provides opportunities for studies in Science and Humanities upto doctoral level. (No. of Courses : 14; Students strength : 1294)

Thavathiru Santhalinga Adigalar Tamil College at perur has been developed as an Institution of Higher learning in Tamil language, Literature and Culture. Dr.N.Mahalingam joined in 1959 and was Chairman between 1960 and 1988. He has been Treasurer from 1989.

Sakthi Institute of Technology has been established at Sakthinagar in 1981 to provide Technical education in disciplines such as Agricultural, Civil, Computers, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical etc. Dr.N.Mahalingam has been Chairman since 1981. (No. of Courses : 6; Students Strength : 605)

Institute of Asian Studies was established in Madras in 1981 as an Institution of higher learning where facilities have been created to carry out research in Culture, Civilisation etc. Leading to award of Ph.D., Seminars are organised with international experts for the benefit of the research scholars. V.M.Kailasam Hospital established at Sakthinagar in 1983 provides Medical and Health Services to the rural population of Sakthinagar and the neighbourhood with a chain if Mini PHCs in Periyar District. (No. of Beds : 100)

VHS Leprosy Hospital established at Sakthinagar in 1988 provides complete cure to the leprosy patients in Bhavani and Gobichettipalayam Taluks of Periyar District.

Society for Investigation of Ancient Civilisation was established at Madras in 1979. The above institution offers periodical seminars for research scholars and provides opportunities for research.

He has served as President of Ethiraj College, Madras between 1972 and 1980. The golden Jubilee of this college was celebrated during 1973 and Hon'ble Prime Minister Indira Gandhi inaugurated the celebrations.

Ramalingar Mission, was established in the year 1965 with Dr.N.Mahalingam as President has been spear heading the spread of the messages of the great savants of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Vallalar, Nayanmars, exponents in music etc. through celebrations, conferences, seminars, workshops etc. at various centres, viz. Madras, Tiruchy, Coimbatore and Madurai apart from sponsoring researches in literature and culture on the lines of open universities during past three decades.

Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology was established at Pollachi during 1998.

He serves as President of Kuppuswamy Sastri Sanskrit Research Institute, Madras since 1984.
